Liz Pilster, MS, LCPC

Liz received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2002 from Fort Hays State University. In 2005, she graduated from Stetson University with Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling. During this time, she worked for a non-profit agency that specializes in working with adults with chronic mental health problems such as Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Schizophrenia. During her Master’s level internship, Liz provided individual and family counseling at a non-profit agency that specializes in family counseling. After receiving her Master’s degree, Liz provided counseling services for a non-profit agency that specializes in working with child abuse victims and their families. In 2008, she became licensed in the state of Florida as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. In 2013, she became licensed in the state of Kansas as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She currently is in private practice in Hays, KS.

Cheya Pilster, Registered Therapy Dog

Cheya is 10 year old mixed, large-breed dog who was rescued from the Humane Society by Liz when she was 9 weeks old. Cheya has completed courses in Puppy School and Basic Obedience. She is registered as a Therapy Dog through Therapy Dogs, Inc. Cheya works with Liz to provide special support to children and adults while they receive counseling. She also volunteers for Be An Angel Therapy Dogs to put smiles on elderly adults’ faces as well those of disabled children.
