Liz Toepfer Pilster, MS, LCPC, provides individual and family therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. She specializes in counseling clients who have been through trauma such as sexual and physical abuse, witnessing domestic violence, emotional abuse, neglect, loss of a loved one, divorce, and natural disasters. Liz also has significant experience working with adults and children who experience depression, stress, anxiety, and relationship issues. She provides a safe, caring environment, and works with children in an enjoyable way that engages them in the therapeutic process.

In addition to traditional counseling, when indicated, Liz gives the option of specialized therapy techniques such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Play Therapy, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She also provides Canine Assisted Therapy with the help of her Registered Therapy Dog, Cheya.

Liz’s philosophy is that people are resilient and can recover from even the most difficult life traumas. She works collaboratively with clients to help them utilize their strengths, enhance their personal growth, and discover their resilience. Beginning therapy is a courageous, positive step toward finding the relief that you or your child deserve.
